Hacker Hijacks Witkoff’s X Account to Promote Fake Trump Token

The X (formerly Twitter) account of Zach Witkoff, co-founder of the Trump-linked crypto project World Liberty Financial, was hacked on Wednesday. The hacker used his account to promote a fraudulent memecoin project falsely linked to Barron Trump, the youngest son of Donald Trump.

A hacker took over Zach Witkoff’s X account and used it to promote a fake cryptocurrency linked to Barron Trump. The hacker claimed that Donald Trump would soon confirm the project, but World Liberty Financial quickly stepped in to warn people that it was a scam and advised them not to fall for it.

Later, Witkoff shared an update saying his account had been hacked but was now recovered, thanks to X’s security team. The fake post has since been removed.

This is not the first time a Trump family member has been targeted in crypto-related scams. On January 23, 2025, Ivanka Trump also warned investors about a fake memecoin that used her name and likeness without her approval. She stated that the project scammed investors out of their “hard-earned money.”

World Liberty Financial (WLFI) is a decentralized finance (DeFi) project backed by Donald Trump and his family members, including Barron Trump. The company launched its token, WLFI, in October 2024.
