Sony’s Layer-2 blockchain, Soneium, is collaborating with LINE to bring four mini-apps on-chain. This integration aims to expand Web3 adoption among LINE’s 200 million users.
Soneium, Sony’s public blockchain, is integrating mini-apps into the LINE ecosystem. This partnership will enable users to access blockchain-powered applications within the social platform. The goal is to simplify Web3 adoption by making decentralized apps more accessible.
LINE is a leading messaging platform in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. It launched a decentralized app portal in January 2025 to drive Web3 adoption. Soneium also went live on mainnet in the same month. This collaboration strengthens both firms’ presence in the web3 space.
Soneium will bring four mini-apps on-chain in the coming months. These include Sleepagotchi LITE, Farm Frens, Puffy Match, and Pocket Mob. Each app has already gained traction in the Web3 gaming space.
Sleepagotchi LITE is a simplified version of the Sleepagotchi Sleep Rewards app. It allows players to earn points that can be transferred to the full version. It gained 1 million users on Telegram within a month of launch.
Farm Frens is a farming game developed by Amihan Entertainment. It raised over $10 million in funding. Its relaunch on Soneium aims to onboard LINE’s Web 2 users into Web3.
Puffy Match comes from the zk-L2 and AI-powered gaming platform Moonveil. It offers quick gameplay sessions with community rewards and engagement.
Pocket Mob is a social strategy RPG by Sonzai Labs, the team behind TeleMafia. Players engage in mafia-style battles and earn Respect points, which may be converted into NFT rewards.
The partnership offers key benefits for both companies. Soneium gains access to LINE’s massive user base, accelerating Web3 adoption. LINE strengthens its blockchain presence and enhances its gaming ecosystem.
LINE MINI App developers will receive Soneium’s support, including infrastructure, marketing, and community-building tools. This will allow them to create more engaging web3 experiences.
Sony Block Solutions Labs Chairman Jun Watanabe highlighted the importance of this collaboration. He stated that integrating mini-apps into Soneium would make blockchain more accessible.
