Crypto Price Today (March 17, 2025): Bitcoin & ETH Struggles For a Break-out

Bitcoin price had continued trading within the $82,000 to $84,000 range through the weekend while looking for a breakout before the Monday opening. Similarly, ETH and other altcoins prepare for volatility for the day ahead. 

At the time of writing, BTC price is trading near $83,300 with a market cap of $1.65 trillion. It has witnessed over 100% increase in 24 hour trading volume as traders starts to take their positions and speculate on weekly market opening.

ETH price is hovering around $1,900 and it is looking to surge past $2,000 today in a potential push, following Bitcoin’s next leg-up. ETH is currently facing major resistance while its way up to price recovery. 

Other leading altcoins like XRP, SOL, ADA, DOGE and TRX are also having a hard time rising from the weekly lows while BNB has spiked over 5% following renowned interest in BNB Chain’s DeFi ecosystem. 

Among the largest gainers, BNX and CAKE stand in leading position with surging over 30% while OKB, CRO, and MNT have gained 5% in the past 24 hours. Following the cooling down period, several altcoins have decreased over 6% – including KAS, MOVE, TAO, TIA and S (Sonic).
