Cronos Goes Omnichain with Stargate Integration
The Cronos ecosystem has taken a major leap toward a unified Web3 by launching Stargate-powered ETH and USDC pools on Cronos EVM. Thanks to LayerZero’s interoperability technology, users can now enjoy boundless liquidity and faster, more efficient cross-chain trading experiences.
These new pools pull liquidity from multiple networks, enhancing capital efficiency and enabling deep, seamless swaps across blockchains.
Building a Stronger, Unified Web3
LayerZero’s omnichain messaging protocol serves as the backbone of this transformation. With it, Stargate’s liquidity architecture enables developers and users to connect across 50+ supported chains—bringing Cronos firmly into the interconnected future of DeFi.
“Thanks to LayerZero, the Cronos universe has just expanded,” said Mirko Zhao, Cronos Lead. “Cronos EVM users can enjoy boundless liquidity, while DeFi projects can create new products that are native to Cronos while being fully cross-chain.”
Developer-Friendly Features with Hydra BaaS
A major boost comes from Hydra, a key component of Stargate V2, which introduces Bridge-as-a-Service (BaaS). This allows dApps to lock native assets and mint 1:1 Hydra-backed tokens across chains, improving scalability, capital efficiency, and access to liquidity from day one.
Bridging Cronos to the World
The integration establishes direct pipelines from Cronos to major chains like Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base, offering users smoother movement of assets and expanding the total value locked (TVL) within Cronos.
“Cronos is a core pillar of the DeFi industry,” said Lamps, Foundation Lead at Stargate. “By connecting to Stargate’s Omnichain liquidity network, Cronos enters a truly unified Web3 where value flows freely.”
What This Means for the Ecosystem
With backing from Crypto.com and a growing network of 500+ partners and developers, Cronos continues to evolve into one of the top 15 blockchain ecosystems. Its three-part infrastructure—Cronos POS, Cronos zkEVM, and Cronos EVM—caters to payments, gaming, NFTs, and high-speed DeFi solutions.
The launch of these new pools represents a major milestone for Cronos, bringing closer the vision of a decentralized, interoperable, and user-friendly Web3 future.
