A Dinner Worth Its Crypto Weight
The itineraries of the Trump Crypto Dinner, which was conducted behind doors and was not scheduled on the official schedule, saw the most influential 220 holders of the $TRUMP memo coin which is a cryptocurrency controlled by the Trump Organization.
VIP privileges were given to the top 25 token holders which had its own ability to a personal cocktail with Donald Trump himself.
There were visible signs in the stadium that said, “Fight Fight Fight” reported Bloomberg, and the gift bags given out had branded hats and other plaques.
The Filet mignon, pan-seared halibut, salad, and warm lava cake were on the gourmet menu.
Protesters Deliver a Message Streetside
Hundreds of protesters who came forward were protesting outside the club.
People brandishing placards of, among other things, “Stop Crypto Corruption” and “America is not for sale”, protested.
Others even called out, “I hope you have trouble with your food”, as the premiere cars drove in, and past the security gatings.
They also demanded the openness that is, publication of the guest list to the public because the secrecy of the occasion created resentment and distrust.
Who Was There?
In the crowd was former NBA star Lamar Odom and crypto businessman Justin Sun, who is currently facing a U.S. regulatory case.
During the dinner, Sun shared a photo of himself on his way to the dinner, which led to speculation of international financial power using American politics.
Political Blowback: Warren Wipes the Event
Senator Elizabeth Warren did not spare her feelings.
The occasion was dubbed by her as “an orgy of corruption”, and one that appeared as the Trump era saw rollbacks of crypto oversight, such as an attempt to dismantle the crypto enforcement unit within the DOJ, and changes applying to regulation within the SEC.
She cautioned that the dinner may be an indication that the former is selling political access to rich insiders (both domestic and foreign alike).
